Champs Fleurs, Trinidad
I’m far too busy to go to Trinidad. Back when I was not busy at all, I had plenty of time to go but no means. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to take a trip via my taste buds. The lager is named after the Carib people, the original native people of Trinidad and of northern South America. Of course, these same people leant their name to the Caribbean Islands and the Caribbean Sea before lending their name to a beer. If a winter bock is a darker beer helping you get through the cold months, a tropical beer like this one is designed to quench your thirst on a hot beach after thinking about swimming all day. The weather outside says I should be on the dark side, but beer variety is the spice of drunken life. It’s refreshing as you might expect, not complex but a pretty light yet tasty brew. I should have been drinking it in July…or in Trinidad.
