Lieshout, The Netherlands

DSCF0569Hooray, back in Canada!  What better way to celebrate than with this confusingly named import, since I’m feeling like an import myself right now.  Bavaria is a state in Germany, down in the southwest corner and therefore about as far away from Holland as you can get in Germany.  Regardless, this entirely Dutch brewery has been brewing under the name Bavaria since 1719, so it’s too late to make a change now.  It’s pretty good, nothing special to it, but if you can’t drink what you like, you should like what you drink.  I’m not just enjoying this beer, I’m also enjoying my big comfy chair and my big TV and a bathroom I don’t have to share.  Tomorrow, I shall take a long shower without having to hold the sprayer in my hand for the first time in over three weeks.  For supper, maybe some pasta and vegetables, two things that seem to be in short supply where I travelled.
