The Mercury Space Program was able to launch American monkeys and men into space one at a time until 1963. This was followed by the Gemini Program, which in 1965 launched men into space two at a time. On June 3, 1965, Edward White became the first American to walk in space (a feat that Russian Alexey Leonov had already done three months earlier). Let’s assume that it’s Lieutenant Colonel White that’s pictured on the bottle. Above him, the constellation Gemini is mapped with the two stars named after the twins from Greek mythology, Castor and Pollux. Inside the bottle, which is what matters, Southern Tier has blended their “twin” pale ales, Hoppe and Unearthly, to create this brew. It’s a really nice strong pale ale, hoppy and a bit sweet as you might expect based on the names of the source beers and their strength. If you want two drink the alcohol and flavour of two pale ales, but are short on time, I suggest you drink this one. It’s got the right stuff.
